I used to make meticulous backups of my photos, my documents, and my financial records. When I started Med School and had a baby, those little details sort of just slipped through the cracks. Life was in session. I was filling my hard drives with GIGABYTES of baby photos and videos everyday. My wife got rid of her computer and put all her documents on mine. Then my laptop started acting up, and I backed up my schoolwork to my computer. Then the crash happened. EVERYTHING was on that computer. I tried everything I could think of to get my data back, but I couldn’t. My wife and I started calling places here in the states. Every place I called charged ridiculous “non-refundable evaluation fees” and gave vague quotes for recovery prices like “$1500 to $9000″. Some people were downright rude and unprofessional on the phone!
I had been complaining about my situation to a friend when he told me about his brother, who had a similar problem and sent his drive to the UK.
