We recover Buffalo LinkStation and TeraStation drives from all hardware and software failures. If your drive is configured as a RAID or similar, our engineers have industry-leading RAID repair and recovery skills, and will restore your data and have you up and running in no time.
Our engineers are recognised throughout the industry for their leading data recovery skills and for their ability to successfully recover failed Buffalo NAS data. Even from apparently hopeless situations such as multiple disks failing, or a RAID rebuild failure, and which another recovery provider has said cannot be recovered.
- We do not charge anything if we are unable to recover your data.
- You and your data are treated with respect and with full confidentiality.
- Our engineers are amongst the industry’s best. They will take care of your data.

In the first instance, please contact us. We have lots of information on our website, from delivery and turnaround to what happens if you’re outside of the UK. Under the menu, there is also a list of FAQs that will help put your mind at ease.
If you contact us, an engineer will run through the failure and the symptoms with you. They will know if the system can be powered down, or if you need to immediately remove the power, before more damage can take place.
Retrodata have a world-wide reputation for customer service, engineering skills and reliability. Our engineers have the highest levels of RAID recovery in the entire industry, and they often recover data from storage that has been declared unrecoverable by other companies. You and your data will be treated with respect, and our service is fully confidential. Please contact us so we can start the process of recovering your data

NAS Recovery. TeraStation and LinkStation Data Recovery
If your Linkstation or Terastation has failed or a RAID has crashed or has corrupted data, our engineers have the necessary skills and significant experience in Buffalo data recovery and RAID recovery.
It does not matter whether you are using Apple Macs or Windows computers – even Linux, UNIX or Solaris; almost all data failures can be repaired, regardless of the operating system.
If you updated the firmware and now cannot access the volume on the device, or a RAID rebuild has failed, our engineers are available to take your call and advise you how to prevent further data damage. If someone has lost data, or accidentally erased data, they are almost always able to recover deleted data.
- Failed hard drive
- Firmware update failed
- RAID expansion failed
- RAID migration failed
- Corrupt file system or RAID
- Cannot access the device or share
- Buffalo RAID rebuild failed
- Corrupt volume
Buffalo LinkStation Data Recovery
Recovering data and lost RAID data from Buffalo LinkStation and Buffalo TeraStation NAS devices including, but not limited to, the following:
Linkstation DUO
- Active directory support
- Apple Time Machine support
- Failed hard disk drive
Linkstation Live
- Single hard drive
- Passive cooling (no fan)
- Failed disk drive
- No redundancy; chance of overheating, causing hard drive failure
- Buffalo LinkStation failed
Linkstation Mini NAS
- Active Directory support
- Apple Time Machine support
- Recovering deleted data is usually possible
- Firmware recovery
Linkstation Pro Duo
- As above, without Time Machine support
Linkstation Quad
- Hot swappable drives
- Time Machine support
Recovering Buffalo Terastation data
Terastation Duo
- Two SATA drives
- Hot swap drives
- RAID 0, RAID 1 and JBOD
- Share level replication
- We recover deleted files;
- Supports Apple Time Machine
- Corrupted volume
- Cannot access share
- Firmware update failed
- Crashed Buffalo TeraStation
Terastation Pro 2
- Crashed RAID
Terastation ES
- Four SATA drives – pedestal mount
- RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 5, RAID 10, JBOD
- Supports Active Directory
- Replication between other units
- Corrupted file system
Terastation 3
Terastation WSS
Terastation Pro 2 iSCSI
- RAID expansion failed
- RAID migration failed
- Deleted file recovery (Caution: Sometimes it’s best to immediately remove power from the system to prevent further data damage.)
- Corrupted RAID
Terastation 3 iSCSI
- Rackmount or Pedestal
- Four SATA drives
- Hot spare
- Hard drive died
We retrieve deleted data files from most situations. However, it is sometimes best to power the unit down by removing the power source. If you let it shut down normally, the system may delete files that we need for recovering deleted data. If you contact us, we’ll explain what is necessary.
